Wow! It's been a long time. Getting back to this.

I've been using a different blog line to post some of the wooly creations that I have been working on, but had completely forgot that I had even started this up. It's been a year and a half now and I want to start making notes of things that the boys are doing so that they don't get forgotten.

This month has been busy with new things and amusing discoveries by the boys.

Nick is now almost 18 months and James will be seven very soon.

In the past few weeks Nick has discovered how to blow bubbles through his straw, stand on his toes, and cry to get his brother in trouble. He has been teething like mad with molars coming through and has been an emotional wreck.

Nick has really been enjoying his Mother Goose program on Friday mornings. We go to the downtown activity centre and they do a 45-minute program of songs, rhymes and stories. He loves zoom, zoom, zoom, row your boat and itsy bitsy spider the best.

He is finally starting to say some words on a regular basis. He says dada and muuuuuum in a very loud and excited voice. James is usually referred to a Jeejee and he can now say Eye. This is his first real word outside of family names.

He can identify quite a few parts of his body now. Eyes, Nose, Head, Feet, Hands and Belly are ones that he knows without a doubt. He can sometimes show us his Ears, Mouth and Bum. :)

He is also really developing a love for animals. Zoboomafoo is the one and only show that he actually has any interest in. He is obsessed with dogs. He does a kissy sound for fish, a grunting sound for dogs, a buzzing sound for bugs and a growling. hissing sound for cats. The only cat that he knows is Grandma's and that cat is mean and hisses at him all the time.

James has been busy at school, learning shocking amounts of French that I will never be able to keep up with.

His school provided skating lessons on Tuesday afternoons for the past three weeks which was a great opportunity for him. They had proper instructors and broke the class into three ability levels so the instruction was very dedicated to what the children needed. On day one he was extremely nervous and could barely stand up. On the first day he learned how to get back up on his own after falling which was a very important lesson. By the end of the last lesson he could move around the ice easily on his own...more walking briskly than skating, but moving none the less. He was having fun and was not nervous at all. Mission accomplished!
